Threads are very trouble to spider... It is the first problem.
But there is the way to do it. We have to remove part of links from our forum, but we dont want to do it because of different reasons.
phpBB 2.2 is created with better spider support.

BUT: obviously no Google mod, because only 481 pages spidered.

I have constantly removed unnecessary links, so that Google only spiders what is important and not all the unimportant stuff (= viewprofile.php etc)

I have also written mods, so that the front page contains links directly to topics:

* Random topics
* Most viewed topics
...

well i only just recently modded the session id's to give google a sinlge session, amended teh robots.txt to stop it spidering unimportant pages, added the dynamic site map, and made it so that unregistered users (which i assume means the googlebot) have the "post-6789.html" when viewing threads.

so now i'm just waiting for google to spider my side, hopefully to good effect
